Mission Statement

Mission Statement:

The Franklin County Humane Society (FCHS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization comprised entirely of volunteers from Franklin County and throughout the state and country. It was formed in 2002 to help solve the problem of unwanted dogs and cats in this region. Its long-term goal is to build an animal shelter where pets can find safe refuge until they can be adopted to permanent homes. FCHS's immediate goals are to develop a strong foster program to remove adoptable animals from the Franklin County Animal Control Facility and to decrease the number of unwanted dogs and cats in Franklin/North Wake counties through spay/neuter public education programs.

We Need Your Help:
We can't do it without your help! Every week more than 60 animals are taken to the Franklin County Animal Control Shelter. Of those, only about 1% make it out alive into safe, loving homes -- that is less than 1 out of that 60.

What You Can Do To Help:
● Provide a foster home for a dog or cat
● Volunteer at our fundraisers and adopt-a-thons
● Donate supplies (toys, food, blankets)
● Sponsor a dog or cat for vet expenses
● Make a tax deductible donation by either clicking the DONATE button or mail it.
